A Forest Monastery (18)
Towards western monasteries, there is a forest monastery with a leaning entrance porch. You come next, to a monastery of which the northern gateway is pillared and has been restored. The entrance porch is flanked by two handsome stone couches. Around the inside corner of the building, is a walk. This was for pacing meditation, a form of Buddhist meditation, which is practiced while walking slowly up and down. A large pond can also be seen which would have been used for bathing. Above this in the center of the monastery is a double-platform building joined in the center of the stone bridge.
A magnificent urinal stone can also be seen just outside the boundary of this monastery. A dragon arch supports a lotus on which there would have been a water jar and there are two beautiful sculpted lions. Underneath these urinal stones was a filter system, consisting of three large terracotta pots, placed one on the top of the other
